Liquid eliminated from BLAST Bounty Winter by incomplete Falcons lineup
Liquid fall to Falcons in the quarter finals of the BLAST Bounty Winter despite facing multiple stand-ins. The absence of Maksim "kyousuke" Lukin and coach Danny "zonic" Sørensen was not enough for them to even get a map as they lost the series 0-2.
The series began on Liquid's map choice of Nuke, also a strong map for Falcons. They started well with a pistol win and conversions to go up 3-0 before a streaky half ended with the score tied 6-6. Their CT-side started strong as well with another pistol win that led them to a 10-7 lead. However, they were unable to hold back Falcons' attack consistently, ending the half tied again at 12-12. Liquid put up a good fight in overtime, but couldn't handle multiple failed clutches and lost their pick 14-16.
On Falcons' pick of Dust II, things were far less competitive. Despite winning their third pistol and converting a second round, Liquid ended the first half down 3-9. Liquid won their fourth pistol in a row and the first five rounds of their T-side, but Falcons responded with four rounds of their own. Liquid lost Dust II 8-13 and the series 0-2.
Despite beating Falcons 10-2 in the first three rounds across all halves, Liquid were completely unable to match Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov's output as he finished the series with 50 kills in stark contrast to Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak's 27.
