Official: friberg returns to Counter-Strike as Johnny Speeds coach

The CS legend is taking the next step in his career

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive legend Adam "friberg" Friberg has announced his return to competition today by joining Swedish organization Johnny Speeds as their new head coach. The Major winner thus returns to the game in an official capacity after hanging up the mouse in 2022 after two years with Dignitas.

The move sees friberg join Johnny Speeds after they began a shuffle in November that resulted in bringing in Jacob "jocab" Nerheden alongside friberg. On Johnny Speeds friberg reunites with a number of his former teammates including Jonas "Lekr0" Olofsson and Ludvig "HEAP" Alonso from Dignitas and William "draken" Sundin from NIP.

friberg will aim to help Johnny Speeds climb the VRS from their current position as #62 in the world in the VRS. He will also likely face off against Jesper "JW" Wecksell's EYEBALLERS, carrying on an iconic conflict between two of Sweden's most famous players, albeit in a different context.

Johnny Speeds are now:

  • Sweden William "draken" Sundin

  • Sweden Anton "Sapec" Palmgren

  • Sweden Jonas "Lekr0" Olofsson

  • Sweden Ludvig "HEAP" Alonso

  • Sweden Jacob "jocab" Nerheden

  • Sweden Adam "friberg" Friberg (Coach)
