Media: 100 Thieves target poiii while pivoting away from existing VRS cores
According to a report by HLTV and Fragbite, 100 Thieves are targeting 19-year-old Swedish player Alex "poiii" Nyholm Sundgren as the third addition to their Counter-Strike 2 roster. The Alliance player is therefore set to join the team alongside Håvard "rain" Nygaard and head coach Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander while Nicolai "device" Reedtz is reportedly another priority target for the organization.
100 Thieves' reported interest in poiii would see the Swede be the first young talent to join the roster as previous realized and reported signings have focused on veteran talents like rain and device. poiii is regarded as a hot prospect in the Swedish scene, with the rifler plying his trade with the likes of EYEBALLERS and Alliance and earning the attention of Jesper "JW" Wecksell, who touted him as Sweden's next superstar in 2024.
With poiii and device expected to join 100 Thieves, it appears that 100 Thieves are aiming to create an entirely new lineup rather than acquiring an existing core, something multiple sources confirmed to HLTV. With this 100 Thieves will start out in the scene with 0 VRS points and will need to grind in the open circuit in order to claim invites to larger events. This would likely rule out the team from attending the first Major of 2026, IEM Cologne, but will give 100 Thieves' management more freedom to design a roster from scratch.
Here's the current reported 100 Thieves roster:
-
Håvard "rain" Nygaard -
Nicolai "device" Reedtz -
Alex "poiii" Nyholm Sundgren -
Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander (Coach)
