The legend misses a big event by fractions of a point

"We missed BLAST by 0.3 VRS points" - JW and EYEBALLERS fall painfully short of crucial invite

That's rough.

The official Valve Regional Standings went live yesterday, December 1st, effectively determining the next wave of invites for major CS2 events.

For EYEBALLERS, the Swedish roster led by 3-time Major winning veteran Jesper "JW" Wecksell, their meteoric rise up the global rankings fell just short of reaching Top 32, meaning no invite to BLAST Bounty.

For the team, it's a gut-wrenching result after a six month climb from #176 to #33. In a post on X, coach Faruk "pita" Pita, who coached NiP to their sole Major victory in 2014, expressed his frustrations, in particular the -21.11 point penalty from losing an online match to KHAN, who received a ban from CCT in October after evidence of cheating software was found on two players' systems.

While pita stated that he's incredibly proud of the rise up the rankings, the feeling of "missing out by just 0.3 points hurts so much."

All is not lost however, as the team could still receive a wildcard invite if one or more teams elect to skip the event. The BLAST Bounty Winter closed qualifier that will use the December rankings is scheduled for the second week of January 2026, beginning January 12th.
