NRG sweep SkinRave to qualify for ESL Pro League S23
After the four ESL Challenger League Cups of Season 50, there were just two teams at the Finals playing for a spot at ESL Pro League S23. Wildcard won Cup 2, but pulled out of the Finals event, leaving just NRG and SkinRave. NRG won ECL Cup 1, and SkinRave won ECL Cups 3 & 4.
SkinRave had qualified directly into the grand final with their two cup win, with NRG to face Wildcard in the semifinal. NRG then went directly into the grand final after Wildcard left the event.
SkinRave picked Overpass to start the best-of-five series. NRG got off to a hot start, taking a commanding 9-3 lead in the first half. SkinRave played the second half close, but it wasn't near enough as they dropped their map 13-6.
NRG's first pick of the series was Inferno. SkinRave flipped the script on them in the first half, taking a 9-3 advantage of their own. NRG fought back, turning the game on its head. They lost just two rounds in the second half to win 13-11.
Dust2 was the third map, with SkinRave playing for their life in the series on their second map pick. The story was much the same of the first map. NRG took an 8-4 lead in the first period. SkinRave couldn't get the lead any lower than two rounds, as they lost the map and series after a 13-8 loss on D2.
NRG now join M80 at ESL Pro League S23.
