ESL Challenger League Season 50 NA Cup #4: Day 7 Recap
The seventh day of ESL Challenger League Season 50 North America Cup #4 saw Marsborne and BOSS advance to the lower bracket final over Mythic and LAG, respectively.
While BOSS didn't have to play to advance, after LAG once again forfeited the match because they couldn't field an eligible lineup, Marsborne had to work hard to beat Mythic.
Mythic were rock solid on Nuke, their map pick, and won the game by 13-9 as the ever-vintage Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue had a massive performance, dropping 24 kills and a +7.02% Round Swing.
But Marsborne picked up the pieces and comfortably won on Inferno (13-5) and Overpass (13-7) as they had dominant T-sides on both maps. With the reverse-sweep, Marsborne avoided what would be a major upset in terms of NA CS.
Adam "Grizz" Golden and Danny "Cxzi" Strzelczyk were the catalysts behind the comeback, having combined for 101 frags across the series.
The ECL S50 Cup #4 will carry on tonight at 09:00PM with Marsborne vs. BOSS. The loser will be eliminated from the tournament, while the winner will advance to the consolidation final on Friday, November 14th.
The other two teams alive in the event are SkinRave and Voca, and they'll play the upper bracket final on Thursday, November 13th.
The winner of this cup advances to ECL S50 NA Finals, which will award the winner an ESL Pro League S23 spot. NRG, Wildcard, and SkinRave already secured their place in the finals after topping the previous cups.
