siuhy is among the players who got their signature rejected

Players' stickers mysteriously being rejected en masse

They don't understand why Valve rejected their signature.

One of the best things about qualifying for the Majors is getting your signature into the game in the form of a sticker. However, multiple players had their art rejected for the StarLadder Budapest Major.

They claim that they have abided by the sticker guidelines and that Valve hasn't provided a reason for rejecting their signature.

The list of players who had this problem is relatively long, and it includes players who play in NA, such as Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek and Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek. The players will have to settle for an old signature instead of the new art they've made.

Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato, João "snow" Vinicius, Fredrik "REZ" Sterner, and Danyyl "headtr1ck" Valitov also complained.

Valve has some strict rules in place for player signatures, which you can see below:

The autograph should look the same as when you are signing a fan’s mousepad. It should not take more than 5-10 seconds for you to produce the autograph. If it takes you longer than that, it is too complicated.

It should be written by YOU, and not by someone else. It is ok if your autograph doesn’t look amazing, as long as it is yours! If someone else has produced your autograph on your behalf, we may reject it.

These elements in an autograph may cause your submission to be rejected:

  • Computer-generated art

  • Fonts

  • Overly-complicated lettering or drawings (by hand or computer)

  • Anything that could not reasonably be reproduced by hand in 5-10 seconds.

In the past, these rules didn't exist, or Valve didn't enforce them. But the developer has changed its stance in recent years.

Presumably, Valve wants to see actual autographs in the game, and not sophisticated art created by designers.

The StarLadder Budapest Major will kick off on November 24th, and the stickers should be added to the game around that time.
