The players have a stronger voice with Wildcard being under new management

stanislaw: "Mistakes were made but Wildcard is back supporting vinS and my vision"

Wildcard's players and management are trying to get on the same page.

Dust2.us' Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore spoke with Wildcard IGL Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz at Fragville 2025 in Knoxville after their perfect start to the event on day one.

stanislaw spoke about the team's chances of making the Budapest Major, the tumultuous few months for Wildcard post-Austin Major, and the process of rebuilding the roster with stanislaw reasserting control over the project.

Attending these Fragadelphia LANs is essential as a team that's slipped in the VRS rankings since the Major. When did the team decide to go to Fragville, and was that before or after you came back into the team?

That was after I came back, with the way things have gone, slipping down the VRS system. We have to come to these kinds of tournaments to try to get some points. We're gonna try to rack up as many points until the invite cut-off date. We're going to try our best to make the Major, it's a long shot, but we're gonna try our best.

Right after the Austin Major, you were benched on Wildcard. At that time, you discussed whether it was the end of your playing career, and you were gonna go coach. Were you surprised about the benching post-Major?

Of course, I was surprised. Wildcard has been my home for almost two years now. I thought that myself and vinS had a great thing going. We wanted to make a few changes but the org saw it a different way. Management talked amongst themselves and realigned on their vision, so they brought me back.

vinS and I are working really hard to bring the team together. We brought back phzy, which we're really excited about. We have a new player in Peeping. It's hard to play without any strats, but we're gonna do our best.

Do you know what Wildcard's plan was without you on the team? Was there a coherent vision for what the team would have looked like with you, susp, and phzy out of the squad?

I'm not sure. Myself and vinS are very vocal about what we think the team needs. I think we're finally on the same page with the org. We're playing catch-up.

All the way back in April, Dust2.us reported that Peeping would replace Sonic. After many months, that finally came to pass. Can you tell us what inspired the decision to pick up Peeping?

Peeping was signed without our knowledge; we were just handed him. I'm happy he's here; he's a very young kid with a lot of potential. He's learning a lot, he's learning quickly, and he seems very motivated. It was just like, hey, here's Peeping.

Now that you've essentially gone back to the roster that the organization originally benched, do you think the past couple of months have been a waste of time?

I wouldn't say it's been a waste of time. It's just been difficult to rebuild what was broken down. Now, like I said before, I want to give some credit to the org because they've restructured the way they work and we're working very closely with the new manager and the new owner. We're rebuilding that trust. I'm grateful for that, but it's going to take a while. The point is, mistakes were made but Wildcard is back supporting the team and trusting in the vision that vinS and I have.
