Breaking: Jason Lake announces Complexity's exit from Counter-Strike 2: "No immediate plans" to return

A sad day for Counter-Strike.

In a video released moments ago, Complexity's owner and founder Jason Lake announced that Complexity have pulled out of the Counter-Strike 2 scene. The shocking news follows rumors that the organization's roster was up for sale and set to transfer to Ukrainian organization Passion UA. With this announcement Jason Lake stated that due to financial challenges associated with hosting a roster in CS2, the organization has no immediate plans to return to the space, with it being some time before we could the iconic brand back in the game where it built its legacy.

In the video released on X, Jason Lake explained that the Complexity organization had made the difficult decision to step away from Counter-Strike 2 due to being in a difficult financial position that meant they could no longer afford to host and support a tier-one team.

Lake said that the Complexity organization had exhausted every option and explored every opportunity to find funding, however nothing came through amidst a financially difficult period in the esports world. With this, Lake also announced that COL have no immediate plans to return to the game.

In closing Jason Lake thanked the players and the staff for all the work they have done over the years in supporting the squad through its ups and downs.

With the announcement, Complexity's roster seems set to move to Passion UA in the near future with all but being confirmed that the team has been sold on to a new owner.
