UPDATE: SoaR allegedly attempting to replace EPL roster
An ESEA post by community figure verizon alleges that SoaR are unable to pay their players "anywhere close to a competitive salary." The post was then posted as a TwitLonger by Austin "crashies" Roberts, which we have included in case the original is deleted. The SoaR roster made waves at the beginning of the year by defeating favorites Rise Nation and claiming an ESL Pro League spot for themselves — or so it was thought.
verizon goes on to claim that Dignitas were in talks to buy the SoaR roster for the collective cost of their buyouts, and intended to pay them a competitive salary on par with other Pro League teams at their presumed level.
Furthermore, verizon claims that upon becoming aware that they would in theory be able to put a competitive team in the slot if they maintained the Pro League license, SoaR has approached ESEA MDL side GX for this purpose.
Dust2.us has been able to confirm that a review of the ESL Pro League spot is already underway, with results expected by the end of the week. The situation bears many similarities to the the Misfits organization plans to sign the Argentine/Mexican team No Tenemos Nada, which Dust2.us reported on yesterday.
Update: At the prompting of members of the SoaR organization, crashies has provided screenshots where Ricky "floppy" Kemery confirms that the organization approached GX.
