Thunderpick World Championship 2025 NA Series #2 Playoffs Day 2: Wildcard, NRG earn place in semifinals

The semifinals are now set.

The second day of matches in Thunderpick World Championship 2025 NA S2 saw Wildcard need all three maps to beat LAG, while NRG handled Aether 2-0.

These results set up Wildcard v. NRG in the second semifinal, with the first semifinal matchup being M80 v. Getting Info.

Wildcard 2-1 United States LAG

Wildcard started off hot, beginning 10-2 up on their T side on Nuke. They converted that advantage into a comfortable 13-5 win to give themselves a 1-0 advantage in the series.

LAG started the second map well, but Wildcard closed strong to take the lead 7-5 after the first half. LAG responded with a 7-5 half of their own to bring the map to OT. They took that momentum into the extra period and won 16-13 on Inferno to force a third and deciding map on Train.

The first half of the decider started evenly, with neither team able to take a lead into the second half. Wildcard broke the stalemate right away and only gave up two rounds in the second period to take the final map 13-8.

Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell powered Wildcard to the victory with 67 kills in the series, ten more than the next closest player.
