FURIA sign YEKINDAR
FURIA have announced the signing of Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis this Friday, July 4th. The former Liquid player was loaned to FURIA until the end of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, and now the Brazilian organization has signed him until the summer of 2027.
"When you get to Brazil, you never want to leave," YEKINDAR said in a video posted by FURIA on X.
"Dia de FURIA. I'm staying."
YEKINDAR played a total of three events while he was loaned to FURIA, and most notably helped Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's team to reach top four at PGL Astana 2025 and top eight at the Austin Major.
During this period, YEKINDAR impressed both individually and helped FalleN set up how the team should play. He averaged a 1.10 rating across PGL Astana, IEM Dallas, and the Austin Major, showing signs that he's recovering his form from the Virtus.pro and early Liquid days.
On top of that, the Latvian has been playing a pivotal role in Danil "molodoy" Golubenko's adaptation to FURIA. The Kazakh AWPer made his tier-one debut with FURIA and is playing in an English-speaking lineup for the first time in his career.
FURIA will start playing sooner than most tier-one teams in this second half of the year as they're set to attend FISSURE Playground 1 in Belgrade, which will run from July 15th to 20th.
