BOSS overpower Akimbo to claim Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #2 finals berth
Last night BOSS secured a spot in the finals of the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #2 powered by INUI by taking down Akimbo in an exciting three-map series. The team dropped their first map of the whole event against Akimbo last night on Mirage before powering up to take the series 2-1 with wins on Nuke and Ancient.
The series began on Akimbo's map pick of Mirage with the Mongolian side struggling to get going, starting their T-side 8-4 before falling to a further 11-4 deficit in the second half. However, the team finally found their footing thanks to a great performance from Bishrel "N2o" Tamir, seeing the team rally and win eight out of the next nine rounds to force Mirage into overtime. In overtime, Akimbo continued their newfound dominance to take Mirage 16-14, putting BOSS on the backfoot.
Unfortunately for Akimbo, any chance of taking a quick 2-0 win in the series was quickly shattered as BOSS went into their map pick, Nuke, with a vengeance and were utterly dominant, winning their T-side 9-3 before posting a perfect CT-side to take the map 13-3.
With the series tied up, BOSS continued to be on a strong footing as they won their CT-side 9-3 with Gavin "Fruitcupx" Norman leading the way for his team. After switching sides, Akimbo showed some resilience after winning their CT-side pistol, but BOSS were ultimately the better team on Ancient once their economy came into force, with BOSS ultimately taking the map 13-9.
