Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 2 Quarterfinals Day 1 Recap: Akimbo moves on

Akimbo v. Marca Registrada kicked off the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 2 playoffs yesterday.

Akimbo started their playoff run with a clean 2-0 victory over Marca Registrada.

Akimbo chose Mirage to begin the series, getting out to an 8-4 start to take a healthy lead into halftime. Marca Registrada reduced the deficit to one round at three different points in the second half, but that's as close as they would get. Akimbo finished with a flourish to take the first map 13-9.

Marca Registrada picked Dust2 for the second map and began with a 5-0 lead that was diminished into a 7-5 lead at halftime. However, it was all Akimbo in the second period. The Mongolian side had a perfect T half, winning the map 2-0 and locking in their semifinal berth with the 2-0 victory. Bishrel "N2o" Tamir had an outstanding series as the only player who logged 20 frags or better in both maps.

Akimbo awaits the winner of BOSS v. Tsunami on Friday. The playoffs continue tonight with Party Astronauts v. Getting info at 08:00PM.
