ESEA Advanced Season 53 reaches playoffs

This season will feature six teams from ESL Challenger League Season 49.

ESEA Advanced Season 53 playoffs is set to start tonight, seeing six teams from ESL Challenger League Season 49 and 24 teams from ESEA Advanced Season 53 go head-to-head to claim $20,6000 and four spots in ESL Challenger League Season 50.

The double-elimination bracket begins tonight and will conclude on June 15th.

Under the new format for ESEA Advanced playoffs, all teams from ESL Challenger League Season 49 were invited to compete in ESEA Advanced S53 playoffs, however only six teams accepted invites meaning they were all directly seeded into the bracket rather than needing to play in a Play-in tournament.

The six teams set to compete in Advanced playoffs from ECL S49 are Vagrants, Akimbo, Chicken Coop (formerly Bad News Capybaras), SUPER EVIL GANG, Golden Horde (formerly Worms), and InControl.

Other notable hopefuls in this tournament are ESL Impact League Finals runners-up Supernova Comets and 5th-6th placed FlyQuest Red. Tsunami, who qualified for ESL Challenger League last season are also taking part in the playoffs.

The bracket was redrawn yesterday after Junga and BACKWHENEVER were disqualified because a player on each team was banned on FACEIT for cheating.
