Party Astronauts pull out of Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #1
Party Astronauts have informed Dust2.us of their decision to withdraw from the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #1 powered by INUI, due to roster issues that would leave the team with an ineligible core to maintain their Valve Ranking System (VRS) Invite. Party Astronauts' decision to pull out of the event comes as the squad are in the process of rebuilding after imploding in mid-February after a severe breakdown in the relationships between multiple members of the team.
After being granted a lifeline in ESL Challenger League Season 49 after ESL admitted they misunderstood and miscommunicated their roster change rules, the team has been spotted using multiple players including Justin "FaNg" Coakley and Matthew "d4rty" Paplawskas in ECL and Diego "sacrifice" Camacho in the PGL Bucharest NA Closed Qualifier.
However, Ben "ben1337" Smith told Dust2.us that Wesley "viz" Harris is no longer part of PA's rebuild due to receiving a job offer he couldn't pass up, leaving the team unable to maintain a core in line with the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #1's March invite date unless they continue to use FaNg – something ben1337 says the team are trying to avoid.
Per Valve's tournament operating requirements, Dust2.us first extended an invite offer to the former timbermen lineup. However, Matthew "nero" Seymour and Christopher "aleph" Froden were unable to accept an invite due to Wyatt "snav" Phillippi, Derek "dare" Brown, and Shane "shane" Dressler being on other teams or otherwise unavailable.
With that, Dust2.us extended an invite to ECL 49 squad Chill Guys, who will be the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #1's twelfth invited team.
