Nouns part ways with founding member in major shakeup
In a further shakeup of their CS2 roster, Nouns have announced the departure of former IGL and founding member of the lineup Carson "nosraC" O'Reilly. The announcement of nosraC's departure from the Nouns lineup comes shortly after Nouns and NRG announced the transfer of Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott to the latter, leaving Nouns down two players following their 0-3 exit from the Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR.
The departure of nosraC from the Nouns organization represents a watershed moment in the DAO-backed organization's two years in CS2 as nosraC has been an ever-present part of the lineup since October 2022 when Nouns signed Squirtle Squad. Having served under multiple IGLs while also spending many months as the team's IGL outright, nosraC was a consistent performer as the squad attempted to break out and assert itself in the NA stage.
While Nouns largely succeeded in becoming a constant fixture at the upper levels of the NA scene, nosraC's own individual performance began to take a hit in CS2 especially as the 24-year-old took over the IGL of the lineup following the departure of David "cynic" Polster in late 2023. This decision to become the team's IGL opened nosraC up to a degree of criticism especially as Nouns' fortunes waned in 2024 as the team failed to qualify to any LAN events outside of the Copenhagen and Shanghai RMRs while teams like M80 and Wildcard improved seemed to make massive gains at the same time.
With William "RUSH" Wierzba revealing he had taken over as IGL ahead of the RMR, nosraC's days were seemingly numbered, however the 0-3 exit from the Americas RMR likely sealed the deal especially as nosraC posted a dismal 0.87 rating over five maps at the event.
With nosraC and Jeorge out of Nouns' ranks the team now has the difficult task of reinventing themselves heading into 2025. According to Nouns' de-facto manager Sasquatch, the plan is for the team to try out a number of NA players in the near future.
With Jeorge and nosraC out of the lineup, Nouns are now:
-
Christopher "cJ" Jones
-
Paytyn "junior" Johnson
-
William "RUSH" Wierzba
-
Eric "adreN" Hoag (Coach)
With Nouns down two players they will need to select their stand-ins for NA Revival Series in short order, with Dust2.us confirming they still intend on playing the event.
