Legacy eliminated after Thunderpick regional showdown
Imperial triumphed over Legacy this afternoon and will advance to the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 qualifying match. João "felps" Vasconcellos' team secured a 2-1 victory, eliminating Legacy from the tournament.
The series began on Dust2, where Legacy led 7-4 almost at the half. However, Imperial rallied, winning six consecutive rounds to take control of battle. Legacy managed just one round in the second half, leading to Imperial's 13-8 win.
Legacy selected Inferno for the next map and again in the first half showed dominance with an 8-4 scoreline. Imperial made a strong comeback in the second half, eventually leading 10-9. Legacy reclaimed the lead shortly after and ultimately won the map 13-11.
The final map, Mirage, was a close contest. Imperial edged ahead at halftime with a 7-5 lead. Despite Legacy's attempts to regain ground in the second half, they fell short, and Imperial secured the map with a score of 13-11.
As a result, Legacy is eliminated from the Thunderpick World Championship 2024, while Imperial remains in the tournament and will face the winner of the HEROIC vs. NIP match in the qualifiers.
