Shakezullah and company headline day two of the event

Bad News Bears lead the way in day one of ESEA Fall Cash Cup 6

Despite prolonged delays, favorites finish the first day victorious to move forward to day two.

The first day of ESEA x Fragadelphia Fall Cash Cup 6 came and went, with day two set to be dominated by an all ESEA Premier bracket. The initial day of the event didn’t come without controversy however, as a newly adopted format helped create long delays which caused discontent within the tournament, prompting Erik "fl0m" Flom to take to Twitter to vent his frustration.

In spite of the issues, the first round of play featuring the new GSL best of one format played out mostly as expected. All present Premier teams moved forward, albeit with some matchups being closer than expected, such as Eros with a close 16-12 victory over Forth Quarter, and ONET4P narrowly being victorious with a 16-13 win of their own versus dotgaming.

Regardless, the best of three elimination matches of the event did play out as anticipated with Premier sides dominating the early rounds of competition. Beginning their run in the second round, Bad News Bears quickly dispatched of Spooky Squad, besting their foes 16-2 and 16-7, on Mirage and Nuke respectively. On the other side of the bracket, DETONATE demolished Turtle Squad with the latter only being able to accumulate seven rounds throughout the two maps played whilst Wesley "viz" Harris' men also made their way to the third round with another one sided victory at 16-6 and 16-5

Round three also saw Premier teams turn out victorious but proved to be more challenging than expected for the favorites. Eros secured their spot in day two by overpowering Advanced team Levitate 2-0 following a hard-fought 16-14 victory on the final map while Party Astronauts also faced difficulty in their matchup versus another Advanced team in Brazen which saw Gage "Infinite" Green and company need to use all three maps to send their foes packing.

Other noteworthy clashes also saw gruelling scorelines. Premier teams ONET4P and Big Chillin faced off seeing the latter as the underdogs, following an 0-2 defeat to the former in ESEA Premier some three weeks ago. Trading blows, the two teams would have to be separated on the final map, where a 16-13 scoreline in favor of ONET4P saw Big Chillin bow out in the third round. Triumph also had to edge out the mix of Debauchery Tea Party 19-17 on the final map of their clash, clinching the series 2-1 to seal their spot in day two. Meanwhile, DETONATE's third round matchup versus InControl saw them appear to not be fully "in control", seeing a laborious 16-14 victory being required in the third map to also advance forward.

On the contrary, favorites Bad News Bears cruised into the second day, convincingly deconstructing their opponents 16-2 on both maps, whilst ATK and RBG also managed to secure their places in the second day.

Following the conclusion of the first day of the tournament, day two is set to commence with the following fourth round matchups:

United States Bad News Bears   vs. United States DETONATE
United States Eros vs. United States RBG
United States Triumph vs.  ATK
United States ONET4P vs. United States Party Astronauts

The second day matchups are scheduled to begin at 1PM EST and will see the eight teams fight for a $6,000 prize pool - split $4,000 to $2,000 between the first and second teams respectively - as well as FRAG points being on offer too, as seen below.

1. $4,000 + 4000 FRAG Points
