ATK part ways with Cyrix

ATK are aiming for a more developed player as they look to finish 2021 strong.

Dust2.us has confirmed that ATK have parted ways with McKinley "Cyrix" Hollison, ending his short three week tenure with the team. ATK are now back on the lookout for a new AWPer following the departure of longtime player Josh "bLazE" Saunders.

Cyrix's departure from ATK comes after a mixed period for the team, with the squad claiming a third place finish in ESEA Fall Cash Cup 4 and qualifying to iBUYPOWER Mythic Masters Winter 2021 but failing to make it deep in the latter event after losses to Extra Salt and oNe. In ESEA Premier Season 39, ATK sit are in the middle of their group with a 1-2 record, with their sole win being against Springroll.

In his short time with the team, Cyrix posted a 0.97 rating over 24 maps.

ATK's coach Daniel "sprayxd" Kogan told Dust2.us that they decided to part ways with Cyrix as the team wanted to move away from developing prospects and focus on having a lineup with fully realized players. The team fielded Austin "Cooper" Abadir in today's Cash Cup although sprayxd says they are not currently considering a trial with the retired player.

ATK's lineup is now:

  •  Gareth "MisteM" Ries
  •  Rhys "Fadey" Armstrong
  •  Wiljahne "mango" Smith
  • United States Ian "motm" Hardy
  • Daniel "sprayxd" Kogan (Coach)

In ESEA Fall Cash Cup 5 today ATK nearly made it to day two before being eliminated by Triumph 16-12 on Inferno.
