KayJay and Valkenn step down from ONET4P

ONET4P will have to whip their new lineup into shape without their support staff.

With ESEA Premier Season 39 kicking off tonight, ONET4P head into the season without their coach and analyst as both Kieran "KayJay" Playfair and Ashlynn "Valkenn" Brady have stepped down from the team.

In the tweet announcing his departure, KayJay said that he was stepping down from ONET4P due to wanting to pursue projects that would help advance his career and preserve his passion for the game. In the short-term KayJay said he plans on focusing on content creation and would be willing to come back to coaching should the right opportunity present itself. Valkenn confirmed that she also made the decision to leave the team but did not offer further comment by the time of publication.

Their departure will potentially stymie the team's rise after ONET4P had a breakout first season of Premier, making playoffs before being eliminated in the first round of the lower bracket by ChocoCheck. Despite this strong first season, the team replaced McKinley "Cyrix" Hollison and Sean "Subarashii" Tuttle with Walker "walker" Harris and Johnny "JDubs" Wu in the off-season.

ONET4P are now:

  • United States Kyle "Just2EZ" Tan
  •  Tianyi "Fr3nk1e" He
  • United States Junjie "Gank88" Lin
  • Canada Walker "walker" Harris
  • United States Johnny "JDubs" Wu

ONET4P were able to prevail against Eros in their opening match of ESEA Premier Season 39, taking a close 2-1 series. They will face Northern Forces tonight at 8PM EDT.
