Strong peformances from Spongey and Bwills helped make the grand final a quick affair

Bad News Bears beat out oNe to secure second ESEA Cash Cup of the Fall

The bears looked to be a force to be reckoned with throughout the event.

Bad News Bears secured their second ESEA Cach Cup of the Fall season and their tenth overall following a strong showing against oNe in the grand final of the event. Triumph edged out ATK in a third place match that was far closer.

The two favorites of the early stage of the Cash Cup, Bad News Bears and ATK were able to proceed through the bracket relatively free from upsets. The closest match featuring either of these teams occurred when ATK encountered Advanced side Redux, who took 12 rounds off of the South African side before being defeated. That isn't to say there weren't upsets; 95 Bulls, a mix team featuring primarily players from Coldest Riders and Strife set aside ONET4P,  allowing 95 Bulls to reach the quarter-finals of the Cash Cup.

Bad News Bears and ATK both made quick work of their opponents in the quarter-finals, with 95 Bulls only securing three rounds against the Bears while Levitate managed to grab five against ATK.

The two semifinal matches could not have been any more different in regards to the competitiveness. Bad News Bears took on Triumph in a three map affair, with Zack "XotiC" Elshani putting in much of the hard work for Triumph while Paytyn "junior" Johnson was doing the same for Bad News Bears. In the end, it was the Bears who came out on top after strong performances from junior and Michael "Swisher" Schmid helped push them over the line on the third map.

Jack "xCeeD" Holiman had a consistently strong performance across both maps, and when supported by Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk and XotiC on Nuke and Inferno respectively, it was just enough to secure the $2,000 third-place prize.

Bad News Bears made light work of oNe in the first map of the grand final, with Gabe "Spongey" Greiner and Brendan "Bwills" Williams leading the charge to secure a decisive 16-4 scoreline on their own mappick. The second map started off much closer, with Bad News Bears getting eight rounds off the back of a 1.77 rating for Bwills on the Counter-Terrorist side. That did not last long however, as oNe would go on to get blown out in the second half, only garnering one round before Bad News Bears closed out the second map 16-8, securing themselves the first-place prize of $9,000.
