After seven finals appearances the streak has come to an end

FaZe Clan miss their first finals in CS2

An impressive streak has come to an end.

With their 2-0 loss to Vitality today at ESL Pro League Season 19, FaZe Clan's incredibly impressive streak of grand finals appearances in Counter-Strike 2 has come to an end. Prior to exiting EPL today, Finn "karrigan" Andersen's roster had played the finals of the previous seven events they attended, winning the first CS2 event, IEM Sydney 2023, over Complexity while most recently taking home another trophy at IEM Chengdu 2024 after besting MOUZ in China.

In its totality, FaZe Clan's campaign at the start of CS2 netted the organization three trophies while the team fell in four finals against MOUZ, NAVI, Spirit, and Vitality. While this 3-4 record may not have been enough for FaZe to start the first era in Counter-Strike 2, it is a testament to karrigan's unchallenged ability as an IGL, having quickly integrated David "frozen" Čerňanský into the roster while also being one of the first IGLs to become an expert at the new game.

FaZe Clan's LAN results in Counter-Strike 2 have thus far been:

  • Australia IEM Sydney 2023 - 1st Place

  • CS Asia Championships 2023 - 1st Place

  • Denmark BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2023 - 2nd Place

  • BLAST Premier: World Final 2023 - 2nd Place

  • IEM Katowice 2024 - 2nd Place

  • Denmark PGL Copenhagen Major 2024 - 2nd Place

  • IEM Chengdu 2024 - 1st Place

  • ESL Pro League Season 19 - 5th - 8th Place

FaZe Clan will attempt to get back their winning ways when they head out to North America for IEM Dallas 2024 on May 27th.
