FACEIT announces North American circuit awards for 2020

The honorees were selected by their colleagues in the hub for a variety of categories.

FACEIT have announced the results of their 2020 awards, decided by the results of polls taken from players in the FPL hub. They have announced one award per day for the last five days, culminating in today's Best Player of 2020 announcement, given to Michael "Grim" Wince.

The accolades just keep coming for Grim following a breakout year that saw him land a contract with Liquid, top our 2020 player ranking, and assert himself as a talent worth watching in the North American scene. He was a monster in officials with a 1.22 average rating for the year, but also tore apart the FPL ladder when he played, finishing first in August and October, while adding top 15 finishes in June and July.

Grim's new Liquid teammate, Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, was honored as the region's top IGL, which comes as no surprise given his extensive experience and reputation for being one of the game's best teachers. FalleN and Liquid finished 4th at the BLAST Premier Global Final in his debut with the North American side.

As it turned out, the five honorees all either came from Liquid or the new Triumph lineup. Austin "Cooper" Abadir was honored as the Best Team Player in FPL for the second year in a row. His two new teammates Wesley "viz" Harris and Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk received the awards for Most Improved and Upcoming Player, respectively.

The winners of the FPL Awards 2020 are:

United States Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk Upcoming Player
Brazil Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo Best IGL
United States Wesley "viz" Harris Most Improved
United States Austin "Cooper" Abadir Best Team Player
United States Michael "Grim" Wince Best Player
