madss has found a new home with Shimmer

Shimmer madss: "Coming onto this team with experience pushed me into being more of a leader"

madss comes onto Shimmer after gaining a lot of experience under GooseBreeder and co.

Shimmer were one of four ESL Impact squads in attendance at Fragadelphia CS/DO, with the event marking Marissa "madss" Dasta's LAN debut with the team. After spending 16 months with CLG Red/FlyQuest RED madss has to make the transition from being on one of Impact's organizations to being orgless once again. Additionally, the move has seen her join forces her old rivals from Shimmer while helping them to take the next step as a squad.

Following Shimmer's day two win over Goon Ass Suckas, Dust2.us' Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore spoke to madss about the win, joining Shimmer after an extended period with FlyQuest RED, and her new role on Shimmer as she looks to share her experience with the team, among other topics.

Please note that the full interview can be found below on YouTube, while the transcript has some key snippets from their conversation.

How do you think the match went against Goon Ass Suckas?

I think that we did really well. It was nice not to have tech issues for once and I felt like we got into a flow state. We definitely have some mistakes that we have to work out and not giving so many rounds up when we shouldn't be, but I feel like overall we showed more of ourselves today than we have in the past few days.

You are playing the core of that team today again in ESEA Intermediate playoffs. Does it feel good to beat them on LAN and does it give you the confidence to beat them online too?

Yeah, it gives us confidence and I don't think they will be playing Mirage against us, so that helps with the bans. If they do, then they definitely have some balls.

You are very vocal in this iteration of Shimmer. How would you define your role, are you acting as a secondary caller or mid-rounder?

Right now, I'm not calling and we haven't specified if I'm mid-rounding or second. We actually have said second, like I'm more of a second voice so I do a lot of mid-rounding and suggestions for our IGL which is abby. I think coming onto this team with experience pushed me into being more of a leader and trying to teach everybody different things and with mental, just different things they might not have experienced themselves.
