PGL to use upgraded PCs for Copenhagen Major

No FPS issues this time.

One of the sticking points in the European RMR was the poor performance of the PCs due to outdated CPUs that worked fine for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, but were no longer suitable for Counter-Strike 2. It was so problematic that Denis "seized" Kostin told HLTV that players had to even change their settings to adjust.

Following the first European RMR and after complaints from the players, PGL was able to upgrade the computers with the newer AMD Ryzen 5800x3D compared to the 2020 AMD Ryzen 5950X they had been using.

Now, PGL has taken one step further by using PCs with the 2023 AMD Ryzen 7800 X3D CPUs, GEFORCE RTX 4080 graphics cards, and Zowie XL2566K monitors.

"PGL is committed to providing the best possible competitive environment for the players," said PGL CEO Silviu Stroie. "By choosing the AMD RYZEN 7800 X3D for our gaming setups, we're ensuring that the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 will be remembered not only for its intense competition but also for its flawless technical execution."

Players will likely appreciate the upgrade and will also thank Valve for pushing out updates in recent weeks to address the FPS issues.

The PGL Copenhagen Major is set on March 17th with the Opening Stage. The event will run through to March 31st.
