MIGHT and LAG come up strong | ECL S47 Roundup Day 3

It was MIGHT and LAG that came out the winners in last night's ESL Challenger League matches. Both Mythic and One More suffered close losses, which hurts them in the standings, especially considering the stream team had been looking strong to start the season.

Mythic 0-2 MIGHT

Mythic' top-of-the-table dreams were put down as Noah "Nifty" Francis' squad took down the stream squad 13-7, 13-10 over Anubis and Ancient, respectively. On Ancient it was difficult MIGHT as they struggled to get much going on their offense to begin the second map. Despite winning the pistol, Mythic would jump out to a 5-1 lead before finishing the half 8-4. On the CT side MIGHT found their groove quickly, despite allowing Mythic to enter the bombsite more often than not. Mythic would get at least eight bomb plants in the second half, but only converted two of them as they would lose the half 9-2 and the map 13-10.

On Anubis, MIGHT employed an exceptionally strong CT-side as they took a commanding 8-4 lead after the first half. While they were slow to start on their T-side, the North American squad got it done as they closed it out 13-7.

LAG 2-0 One More

The first match just had to go the distance as the two couldn't be separated in regulation while on Nuke. One More began the map on the T-side, where they pulled out an early 7-0 lead before LAG finally found out how to stop them and would claw back five rounds to make it a little more even at the half. LAG would then take a small 8-7 lead in the second, before One More found themselves at match point after five successful CT-side rounds. Back against the wall, LAG took the next four to secure overtime before carrying that momentum to a 16-14 victory.

Overpass was a much more one-sided map as LAG took an early 9-3 lead on their CT-side before carrying it all the way through on their T-side to claim a 13-7 victory. Quinn "Nyyx" Knott was the standout performer on the map as he posted a 1.49 HLTV Rating, 98.2 ADR, and 85.0% KAST.
