battery apologized to his former teammates for not showing up for playoffs

battery issues statement on Russian Canadians situation

The former MDL player spoke about his reason for not showing up to the team's playoff matches.

Ian "battery" Yates has made a statement regarding the end-of-season situation with Russian Canadians, in which his and Alex "vek" Voynov's no-show resulted in the team forfeiting their two playoff matches.

In a TwitLonger, battery apologized for his lack of immediate communication on the situation, following up with a direct apology towards Dylan "Saturn" Finch, Austin "AAustiN" Urb, and David "J0LZ" Jolin for not showing up to the matches.

He then explained how he "gave up" and "lost so much motivation" after Wayne "castro" Einarsson left the roster, partly due to the player's departure and partly because of his own personal issues in real life. The combination of the two, and especially circumstances in the latter, led to battery "hiding from it all" on the day of playoffs, with the player stating that he does not require nor feels he deserves any sympathy for his choice.

He also admitted that the decision was "selfish" and that he was willing to own his mistake, before concluding by saying he was "sorry to all the people (he) let down by not playing." On a more positive note, battery revealed that he had found a new job and kicked his "addiction to marijuana", before wishing goodbye to his former teammates and friends competing in both VALORANT and CS:GO.

He messed up and he owned up to it. Good on him, hope he finds success in what he does and he lets this be a lesson
