Complexity extend four in new deals

North American fans will be happy to see that Complexity has announced the contract extensions for Ricky "floppy" Kemery, Michael "Grim" Wince, Johnny "JT" Theodosiou, and head coach Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen. The four have been founding members for this iteration of the Complexity squad and will remain tied to the organization for years to come.

While specific details of the contracts were not revealed during the announcement, Dust2.us knows that the deals cover multiple years. Contracts for Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski and Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli were not extended as they still have time remaining on their current deals, with the former only joining seven months ago.

In an exclusive comment to Dust2.us, General Manager Graham "messioso" Pitt said;

Really excited to be able to announce the re-signing of this incredibly talented core of players and that we are continuing our support of North American CS. In a world where crazy transfers are happening all around us, having the players and T.c continue trusting in Complexity and what we are building once again is very satisfying. They have shown a glimpse of what they are capable of but I know there is more to come and we are committed to taking it to the next level together.

Complexity's Counter-Strike division remains somewhat clouded by the acquisition talks between current owners GameSquare and FaZe. Due to potential conflict-of-interest concerns, GameSquare might need to shed the Counter-Strike teams for one of the organizations should the acquisition go through.

Additionally, Jason Lake is rumored to be searching for outside investment as he considers reacquiring Complexity. It is unknown if the contract extensions indicate that GameSquare would retain the Complexity Counter-Strike squad over the FaZe Counter-Strike team if the acquisition is completed.

Complexity begins its official season in the next week when they play in the 2024 PGL Copenhagen Major Americas RMR North American Closed Qualifier on January 12th.
