M80 win ESEA Autumn Cash Cup 6
M80 are rolling into the end of the year on a positive note as they have won the penultimate ESEA Cash Cup of the year and put themselves in a great position as they head to ESL Challenger Atlanta later this month. The squad were able to take down teams like NRG and Wildcard on their way to claiming the grand prize.
In the eight-team bracket, M80 were by far the favorites to take home first place as they were also the highest ranked team coming into the weekend event. They were pitted against Wildcard in the quarterfinals who they easily took down 13-5. In the same round, NRG dispatched Party Astronauts 16-14, Take Flyte defeated regain 13-10, and huge sweaty needed overtime to move on from CatEvil.
The semifinals saw Take Flyte needing the full three maps to avoid an upset against huge sweaty. Take Flyte hit first as they comfortably won Mirage 13-5, before losing Nuke 11-13, and then finally closing it out 13-10 on Anubis. On the other side of the bracket, M80 and NRG were duking it out and also needed all three maps to decide the winner. M80 took Anubis 13-4 to start off the series, while NRG struck back with a 13-6 victory on Inferno. Finally, M80 closed out the series with a 13-7 victory on Ancient.
The Grand Finals were much faster for everyone involved as M80 ran riot over Take Flyte to take home the grand prize. The Atlanta-hopefuls dispatched Take Flyte with a 13-9 victory on Anubis and then a 13-7 win on Inferno.
