Warriors go Top^-less to start summer; add Swisher

The Boston-based side hope to cement a spot in Season 35 with this roster change.

Over the weekend, Wyatt "Top^" Beakler announced that he had been cut from Warriors International.

Top^ went on to lament the lack of appreciation that in-game leaders receive in North America, prompting a copy/paste subtweet from Walker "walker" Harris that modified comments made by Jani "Aerial" Jussila of ENCE about stagnant tactics in the wake of Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's departure from the team.

Top^ later tweeted that he was looking to join another team in MDL or a contender in Advanced, noting that he was willing to fill the role of the in-game leader but would prefer not to. He also noted that he is open to joining a VALORANT roster.

Top^ posted a respectable 1.00 rating in three WINNERS League Season 4 maps, but  averaged just a 0.75 rating in ESEA MDL Season 34 and saw his side dealt some very one-sided defeats. Warriors International have failed to tally more than six rounds in five of their six losses so far in Season 34.

In his place, Warriors have added Michael "Swisher" Schmid to their ESEA roster, who last played as a substitute for Morning Light in WINNERS League Season 4 just before the roster disbanded. That was his first official match in almost two months, when he last played with Monstars in the DreamHack Masters Spring Closed Qualifiers.

Warriors International are currently 6-6 and in twelveth place in ESEA MDL Season 34, currently good enough for an invitation back to MDL for Season 35 without attending the relegation tournament. They still have matches against oNe, Levitate, Keep the Comms Up, Swedish Canadians, and Buffdaddy's Paypal Team.

After swapping Top^ for Swisher, Warriors International are now:

  • United States Brett "hyper" Rhein
  • United States Daniel "bokumbop" Yoo
  • United States Derek "Hendy" Hendrixson
  • Canada Walker "walker" Harris
  • United States Michael "Swisher" Schmid
  • Canada Donald "voo" Parkhurst (Coach)
  • United States Colin "Koi" Thor (Assistant Coach/Analyst)

Warriors International will find out who their next opponent is in WINNERS League Season 4 after the round of matches this evening concludes. Swisher will debut for the team tomorrow evening in the squad's ESEA MDL Season 34 match against Keep the Comms Up.
