zews is back to coaching North Americans again

Liquid to reportedly bring in familiar face as head coach

Zews is back in action.

Earlier today, Dust2.us reported that Liquid would be relieving head coach Damian "daps" Steele of his duties. Now, according to a report by Dust2 Brasil, Liquid have found their man in Brazilian Wilton "zews" Prado.

Liquid is no stranger to zews in the coaching position, retaining his services from 2016 to 2018 while Liquid had Brazilians such as Epitacio "TACO" de Melo and Lucas "steel" Lopes on the roster before moving over to MIBR with TACO in a trade for Jake "Stewie2k" Yip to create the Grand Slam Liquid roster. Under zews' leadership, Liquid were able to build a consistent floor that allowed them to eventually become the best team in the world with their fully North American roster. Before Liquid, zews won two Majors, MLG Columbus 2016 and ESL One Cologne 2016, in the coaching role with the famous SK/Luminosity lineup.

zews stayed with MIBR for a few years after Liquid, but the team was unable to reach the same highs as his previous Brazilian lineups. He found his way over to Evil Geniuses on another North American team where he oversaw the team during the online era during which EG reached the #1 spot in the world, according to HLTV.

zews eventually left Evil Geniuses due to a difference of vision and joined O PLANO for a short stint before ending up on Fluxo. Under zews' tenure, Fluxo made the BLAST.tv Paris Major, a boon for the squad, though other results have been of little significance. zews left Fluxo earlier this summer amid disappointment at the team's last-place finish at the Major.

zews joins Liquid at the same time as Felipe "skullz" Medeiros does from paiN, bringing a Brazilian to the team for the first time since Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's departure early last year. This is all part of a large restructuring of Liquid's team following a less-than-adequate performance after the summer player-break. Liquid have also recently benched new addition Aleks "Rainwaker" Petrov and are reportedly looking to move on from Robert "Patsi" Isyanov as well.

Dust2 Birthday cake!
does Dust2.us have an editor? i’ve noticed a lot of small errors in most of the articles I read and while they’re usually pretty insignificant it just seems weird. for example zews hasn’t coached for fluxo for a while AFAIK. i could be wrong but HLTV also shows that.
