The young AWPer is looking for greener pastures after a rough spell

wiz announces free agency

After a tough season with Evil Geniuses, wiz is open for new opportunities.

Touted as one of North America's brightest young stars, Jerric "wiz" Jiang struggled to find his feet in EG. The historic organization decided to cut their losses dropping the struggling lineup, instead they set their sights on star players such as Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski and Denis "electroNic" Sharipov among others. However, EG ended up promoting the EG Black team, who many believe had surpassed the main squad in ability. With only Timothy "autimatic" Ta retained from the previous squad, wiz took to Twitter to announce his release from the organization.

wiz made his name on the RBG team that consisted of the same core who would be picked up into the EG blueprint. After spending four years with that core wiz got his first shot at top-level Counter-Strike when he was promoted to the main squad at the start of 2023. wiz averaged a 1.09 rating in 2022 clearly showing that he is comfortable against domestic opposition, and hopefully, a bit of time on a stable roster will help the youngster develop further.

wiz joins a number of top NA talents currently looking for a new home, with former teammate Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte, Complexity's Justin "FaNg" Coakley, and Major winner William "RUSH" Wierzba amongst the list of teamless players. It leaves the scene with a number of exciting potential roster compositions ahead of the release of CS2.

Take those 4 find an igl and that team would probably be pretty decent in ecl. Would be a good way to build themselves back up too.
