Will ENCE's young superstar crack under the pressure?

NertZ: "This will be my first time playing in front of a crowd"

ENCE are headed to the playoffs.

Following a dominant 2-0 performance over FaZe in the upper semifinals of the IEM Dallas Group Stage, Guy "NertZ" Iluz and co have booked a ticket to the playoffs. This will be NertZ's first event with an audience, which the young Israeli certainly deserves after a standout performance for the European team.

After the qualification match, Dust2.us' Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore caught up with the rifler to talk about his run at IEM Dallas, changes in ENCE, the Israeli scene, and more.

Please note that the full interview can be found below on YouTube, while the transcript has some key snippets from their conversation.

Your roles have shifted on ENCE since your time on Endpoint, can you explain those changes?

It's changed a little bit since I've learned that I"m more of a passive player. When you have Maden, snappi, and dycha, who are all aggressive players, someone needs to be the passive player, and I'm trying to get used to it.

At the Paris Major, we saw Spinx become the first Israeli player to win a Major. How does it feel seeing someone from your community to complete the biggest achievement in CS:GO.

I'm really proud of Spinx. We have a lot of talent in Israel, and I want them to shine. Spinx is the best player in Israel and I'm really happy for him.

Are you gunning to be the best player in Israel?

I hope so, in the future. Maybe 2024.

Do you see anyone stopping ENCE's run to the finals like last year?

I'll be honest, this will be my first time playing in front of a crowd. I'm really happy to play in front of them. We don't feel any pressure, we're just coming to compete. That's it.

ENCE will now face the winner of Cloud9 vs Astralis for a spot in the semifinals. Even if they lose that game, though, they are guaranteed a spot in the quarterfinals.
