Liquid and nitr0 stay alive in the IGL's last event

IEM Dallas Day Two updates

The Americas face elimination.

Coming into the second day of IEM Dallas, North America is in dire straits, with every single American team facing at least one loss. Nouns were eliminated yesterday after two tough losses, while 9z were the only American team to take a victory over European opposition.

American teams are in force for the first matches of the day, with Complexity taking on Evil Geniuses for elimination, while Liquid will have to endure Grayhound to stay alive.

09:01PM - End of Day 2

With Astralis taking down Cloud9 2-0, and OG sending 9z home after a close 2-0 series, day two of IEM Dallas has come to an end. NA will have a difficult day tomorrow as Liquid must face FaZe while COL will need to best Cloud9 to continue their respective runs in Dallas.

08:20PM - 9z fall to OG

After a tough loss on their map pick of Ancient, 9z couldn't mount the reverse sweep to stay alive in Dallas. After falling on OG's Mirage pick, we say goodbye to 9z as they are eliminated from IEM Dallas.

  • Ancient: 9z 17-19 OG

  • Mirage: 9z 12-16 OG

08:20PM - 9z lose their pick to OG

9z narrowly dropped their map pick Ancient 17-19 to OG, putting them down 0-1 in the lower-bracket series. With their backs against the wall, 9z will look to Mirage as a rally point.

  • Ancient: 9z 17-19 OG

05:39PM - FURIA eliminated from IEM Dallas

FURIA have been sent packing from IEM Dallas after an embarrassing 16-4 loss on their pick of Vertigo versus MOUZ. Coming after an 0-3 run at the BLAST.tv Paris Major, and with rumors swirling about changes in the team, it is possible that this was the last time we see this version of FURIA play.

  • Inferno: Brazil FURIA 10-16 MOUZ

  • Vertigo: Brazil FURIA 4-16 MOUZ

04:58PM - FURIA fall short on first map versus MOUZ

After a fairly close first half to Inferno, where FURIA took an 8-7 lead on MOUZ's pick, the European side rallied nine rounds to shut out FURIA 16-10. The elimination match now heads to FURIA's pick of Vertigo, where the Brazillians will be looking to stay alive while MOUZ go for the kill.

  • Inferno: Brazil FURIA 10-16 MOUZ

03:40PM - nitr0 next to NAF for his last dance

As pointed out by Dust2.br on Twitter, some of the Liquid players have switched up their seating positions for the tournament. nitr0, Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis and Josh "oSee" Ohm have had a shuffle and Dust2.us learned from nitr0 that the change was due to his wish to sit next to long-time teammate Keith "NAF" Markovic for a change.

03:16PM - Liquid finally get it done

The NA side stay alive in Dallas despite being taken to multiple Overtimes on both maps by a vexite-inspired Grayhound. Liquid will move on to face the loser of FaZe V. ENCE.

03:04PM - More Overtime

It's gone to a triple Overtime in Liquid's do-or-die match against the Aussies with the scores locked at 21-21 after 42 rounds of play, despite Declan 'Vexite' Portelli dropping 38 kills.

02:51PM - Liquid copy Complexity's comeback

Liquid must be trying to prove that anything Complexity can do they can do better as Nick "nitr0" Cannella's men showed great resilience to comeback from 15-8 down to force OT. It would be a repeat of map one as Grayhound managed to force a second Overtime despite being down 18-16.

02:24PM - Complexity comeback to knock out EG

After getting stomped on map one, EG showed up for Overpass as they established a 14-7 lead and looked set to force a third map. However the EG side began to crumble as Complexity put together a comeback to take the map and match in Overtime.

01:30PM - Liquid finally convert map one, Complexity stomp on EG's pick

After a contested affair on Grayhound's chosen battleground of Inferno, Liquid eventually converted. The Aussies surely surprised the Americans with their solid play, but Liquid were eventually able to reconvene and take the map in overtime.

On the A stream, EG and Col dueled in an American heartbreak. EG started the map veto process with an interesting pick of Anubis, a map they've won once since its addition to the map pool. Unsurprisingly, Complexity won, but their domination was a surprise to be sure, winning the map 16-2, almost making us forget of Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli's absence.

Inferno: Liquid 22-19 Grayhound
Anubis: Complexity 16-2 Evil Geniuses
