GamerLegion end Monte's dreams
Neither team could have dreamt of being in the top eight of a Major at the start of their respective campaigns. However, both teams thoroughly earned their right to be here. nMonte overcame NAVI to earn their spot in playoffs. GamerLegion on the other hand beat Apeks, fnatic and 9INE.
After witnessing Heroic and Vitality secure their places in the Quarter-finals, both of the underdog teams would be hoping to join their much-favored compatriots in the top four.
Map one would be Mirage, Monte's pick, and a solid T half from the Ukrainian squad set them up well moving onto the usually easier CT side. However, GamerLegion powered through on their attack stringing together round after round, dropping only two as they locked up map one 16-10.
Map two would be even more one sided, Overpass was GamerLegion's pick and they ran over Monte storming into a 12-3 lead at half time. The second half didn't get much better for the Monte side as they crumbled under the weight of the stage losing 16-3, failing to find a single round on their CT side.
GamerLegion will be facing Heroic in their Semi-Final match, with the Danish side being heavy favorites. GamerLegion will once again need to rely on the star power of Mihai "iM" Ivan, who netted himself a 1.78 rating in their Quarter-final success, if they are to continue their impressive run in Paris.
