It has been all smiles for ITB since their upset win over FaZe

CYPHER on playing BO3s: "It's for sure going to be harder"

The UK star is well aware the job isn't done despite impressive wins over FaZe and ENCE.

Into the Breach came into the Major as almost everyone's 0-3 pick, and certainly no one expected them to perform as well as they have done. Even those aware of the talent the team possess could never have expected the side to do so well, besting both FaZe and ENCE.

Cai "CYPHER" Watson has been unleashed at the Major, racking up a 1.18 rating at the event so far. The young Brit has shone in the UK majority side and spoke to Dust2.us about the teams results and the secret to their upset wins.

The best of one match was taken to Vertigo and after a even first half, Into the Breach stormed away with the game on their CT side. Asked about his initial reaction to the game, CYPHER was quick to mention the confidence the team has after their win over FaZe.

I mean we had full confidence going into the game after the FaZe game. We had full confidence going into it, we done no anti-stratting really.

Whilst the team may have surpassed the communities expectations, the UK side themselves had different expectations coming into the Major. Off the back of a bootcamp and their RMR run, the team felt that if they were together and on form they could make a run.

I wouldn't...nah I would say we went into this tournament, not obviously 100%, but we knew we could do it if we were together and hitting headshots. that's what we are doing in this tournament.

Throughout the tournament we have seen a few teams struggling with mentality, NA's very own Liquid have found a resurgence of form with a injection of a positive vibe. Despite being one of the highest rated players at the event, CYPHER believes it is the team atmosphere and not anything in the server that has helped them to a 2-1 record.

I mean, you need a good vibe in a team. If you can't have a good vibe, can't have laugh around, you cant have fun with the game. A good vibe, good atmosphere I think is the most important thing in team CS.

Moving forward the team will be playing BO3s. Whilst most teams prefer the lengthier format over the risky BO1s, a team like ITB who tend to be the underdog could struggle with a lack of depth in their map pool. It's certainly something the British rifler is aware of ahead of their next match.

If you don't win those rounds, BO1s are so hard. You need to win those crazy crucial rounds. BO3s of course are going to be harder, people will get to pick their best maps, so its for sure going to be harder but we are capable of doing it.

ENCE let the veto go to Vertigo, one of the UK sides' best maps, and despite it being a strong map for the European roster, one has to question why they would risk it against a team that has already shown upset potential. CYPHER doesn't think it was due to a lack of preparation, but more likely ENCE were so confident in their own game they disregarded ITB's comfort on the map.

They knew, but if you are a top dog like them you go into a game with full confidence. ENCE Vertigo is one of their best maps as well, so I think they just had full confidence going into it.

Just less than a year ago CYPHER was one of a number of players that Dust2.us' Arnie Petty interviewed at EPIC.LAN 37, an event at which he won the MVP award. Now he is one game away from booking a place in the playoffs of the final CS:GO Major Championship.

Incredible... time flies and I'm now one game off the Major [playoffs] and I'll see you there.

Into The Breach will be facing Liquid tomorrow at 01:30PM in a BO3 for playoffs qualification. The loser will still have one final chance to qualify on Tuesday.
