ATK top ESEA Cash Cup standings at halfway point

The recent Pro League attendees will look for a successful run in cup five this weekend to extend their lead.

ESEA announced a reimagination of their Cash Cup tournaments in March, with the aim of breathing some more life into the grassroots NA scene. Along with a playoff bracket flush with a prizepool of $60k, the company also are offering a chance for a bootcamp at Cologne for the circuit's winners.

While the money is great, the bootcamp is equally as enticing as it would provide teams with an opportunity to play in Europe and practice against some of the world's best, which is rare for amateur North American teams. So far there has been four cups played, meaning we are at the halfway stage of the circuit, with the fifth one set to kick off this weekend.

Notably paiN and Party Astronauts are currently outside the top 12, with the Brazilian's recent impressive results mean that they are unlikely to be too upset if they do indeed miss out on the playoffs with their focus now firmly on the Major and other International LANs. Party Astronauts are sitting on just 25 points, despite having won the first Cup (while they were EG White), due to their recent roster changes handing them a penalty point deduction as per the ESEA Cash Cup rulebook.
