New CS:GO case released; no key required

Late last night, Valve announced a brand new update to the game, which included the Anubis Collection, featuring nineteen new weapon skins. The skins covered weapons like the M4A4, AWP, USP and more.

Interestingly, this new case does not require a key to open - instead you can buy it directly from the main menu for only $1.99, which is less than the $2.49 is costs to acquire a key to unlock other cases.

The rarest weapon in the collection is the Eye of Horus, an M4A4 skin that is currently being sold for approximately $1,305 for the Factory New version of the rifle.

With Valve electing to move away from case keys for this collection, it begs an interesting question of how the market will react to the pricetag for cases and keys at large. The Anubis case technically costs $0.50 cheaper than any other case currently on the market and takes one less step to unlock.
