oNe heads to Dallas' Closed Qualifier
In an IEM Dallas Open Qualifier marred by timbermen deciding to forfeit after some internal squabbles, oNe pulled out a victory over Vendetta to secure a spot in the IEM Dallas Closed Qualifier happening later this week.
Pedro "Maluk3" Campos's oNe will now have to prepare to face off against fellow ECL teams Nouns and Strife in a bid to go to the great Texan city. The will soon know who the final member of the closed qualifier on Friday evening after the conclusion of the second open qualifier.
The Brazilians had little trouble throughout the event as they faced off against Arctic Ace and Pantsu, easily dispatching them. However, they squared off against RMR debutants yur in the quarterfinals. Despite yur being red-hot in qualifiers lately, oNe cut them down to size.
Facing Vendetta, oNe were given trouble in the first game as their pick of Inferno didn't exactly go overwhelming in their favor with the Americans forcing it to go to overtime, where oNe eventually secured the map 19-16. Heading to Vendetta's pick of Mirage, it was not nearly as competitive as the Brazilians cruised to a 16-8 victory to secure the closed qualifier spot.
Vendetta will have another bite at the apple today and tomorrow for the open qualifier while oNe will prepare hard for this weekend's eventual Closed Qualifier competition.
