heX over Good Game PR, OCEAN and co. notch another upset in Advanced playoffs

One round deeper into the bracket, not all the higher seeded teams are cruising along.

The ESEA Advanced Season 31 quarterfinals played out in their entirety last night, seeing four teams move onward in the bracket and guarantee themselves a chance at MDL Relegation for Season 32.

The first match of the night saw LiViD absolutely crush Front, with Abdo "c4lypso" Agha doing his part to try and get Danny "huynh" Huynh back to MDL.

Next up, Big Frames didn't have quite so easy a time against Dogs of War, with the #7 seeded side nearly pushing them to their limit across two maps. Things started off in worrying fashion for Big Frames on Mirage, as Sean "Inseaniac" Morrison and Dogs of War took a decisive 10-5 lead at the half. Big Frames began their long comeback journey off on the right foot with a pistol win to open the second half, but immediately lost the following round. In the end, however, Liam "Welshy" Newhouse and Jimmy "Nurfed" McFadden helped drag their team over the line to a 16-13 victory.

Dust2 was a much more back and forth affair, with Big Frames holding a narrow 8-7 lead at the half. Inseaniac once again topped the board for Dogs of War, with Jacob "L0NER" Webster doing the heavy lifting for Big Frames, seeing them once again claim a 16-13 win.

In the next match, Tommy "Axed" Ryan and Just Swing looked poised to send Kyle "OCEAN" O'Brien's absolute mad lads packing, as they claimed a decisive victory in the series opener of Overpass. However, Zander "FIEND" Bates and Nolan "Temperature" Pepper returned the favor over the following two maps. This marked the second upset in a row for OCEAN's men after taking down #4 seeded Final Feature in the opening round.
