FaZe's Canadian superstar adds another trophy to his cabinet

Twistzz wins 'Play of the year'

Twistzz's double-entry at 14-14 in the Grand Final of IEM Cologne secured him the award.

Whilst FaZe are out in Abu Dhabi trying to prove they are still the best in the world after a rough second half of the year, their NA star Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken has been recognized for his heroics in the 29th round of the final map at the IEM Cologne 2022.

The specific play has since been dubbed the 'Canadian' in honor of Twistzz's country of birth and came with the scorelines tied 14-14 on the final map of the Grand Final and was instrumental in turning the tide in FaZe's favor.

Whilst he has been super successful in terms of team achievements both with the Grand Slam 2019 Liquid and FaZe, he has lacked in individual recognition having not won an MVP medal since IEM Sydney 2019, surprising for a player that is widely recognized as one of the best riflers in the world. No doubt the Canadian star will look to rack up a few more individual accolades in his career.

Twistzz is the second North American Counter-Strike personality to receive an award at this year's event, after Complexity CEO and Founder Jason Lake was given the Lifetime Achievement award for his contribution to Esports.
