coldzera rolled back the years to help 00 Nation overcome Complexity

00 Nation crush Complexity comeback

In super tight game between the two teams, 00 Nation came out on top after going the distance.

Complexity's second chance at qualification for Rio would be a favourable match-up for them, coming up against the hit-and-miss Brazilian 00 Nation side. The big positive coming into the match for the Brazilians was the resurgence in form for Marcelo "coldzera" David who had been showing glimpses of his world-dominating form.

Map one was Inferno and Complexity started with some CT-side aggression, pushing down mid and Banana in an attempt to trap the Brazilians but the T-side fought their way out and cleaned up the round. Unfortunately for the North American side it looked to be a stomp, Complexity couldn't find their Pro League form and it left them 7-8 down at the end of the half.

The struggles continued for the side and a red-hot Santino "try" Rigal kept the American side shut out of the game. A gift came in the 19th round when Michael "Grim" Wince found Arch completely open for him to walk into. Off the back of the space given Grim found two kills and an opening onto the A bombsite and gave the Complexity team a chance back into the match.

A double-eco from the Brazilian side led to Complexity closing the gap even further and at 12-15 after a massive 2v5 by Justin "FaNg" Coakley and Johnny "JT" Theodosiou there was a real feeling of hope emanating from the American camp. But a great late-half performance from coldzera led to the Brazilian team closing out the map 16-13.

Overpass started off well for Complexity, who looked fired up to try and force the third map. Storming to a 4-1 lead of the back of Grim and FaNg coming alive. They were slowed down by two quick rounds on the defensive side by the Brazilian team and any hopes of a quick map two went out the window.

Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli found a cheeky three-piece to give the Complexity side free rein on the B bombsite and led to the first pause of the map coming from the 00 Nation side. A 1v2 gift for coldzera led to Complexity throwing away a massive round in the ninth. I guess the Brazilians felt bad for the Complexity side because they attempted an unnecessary monster push on the follow-up round to give the T-side the B site for free.

try made the most of a bathroom stack and took a 4k with the FAMAS to bring 00 Nation up to 5 rounds. The next couple of rounds went in the favour of the Brazilian team, and in the final round with a weapon, disadvantage hallzerk showed his star quality with an exceptional 1v3 for the Complexity side.

FaNg continued to warm-up with a clean two kills to shut down the 00 Nation pistol round. A flawless anti-eco followed and now it truely felt some momentum was being built by the American side, the confidence was shown in the follow-up round as hallzerk pushed playground 10 seconds into the round to find two 00 Nation players with nades in hand.

A dominant CT-side left 00 Nation down 7-15 and, despite picking their first T-side round on Overpass, with the map finishing 10-16 the momentum shifted firmly into the Complexity team's favour as they went on to the final map, Ancient. Complexity set the pace with the pistol round and three dominant follow-ups to start Ancient.

FaNg failed to make impact from a good aggressive push though which gave 00 Nation their first round on Ancient, FaNg after a great showing on Overpass was once again looking shaky. It was a battle of the AWPers in the first half with hallzerk and try powering their sides, and in a fairly even half the Brazilan team came out the happier with 6 rounds on T-side Ancient.

Complexity would need the pistol round to try and give themselves a chance at the map win and Major qualification, on one of the most CT-sided maps in the pool. Failure to secure the pistol led to a trading of rounds but a 4v2 throw from the NA side gave the Brazilians a chance to extend their round lead.

After nearly pulling off a 2v4 of thier own, the economic damage dealt by JT's Desert Eagle shots allowed the Complexity side to close the gap 11-13. it was try and coldzera that quelled the Complexity comeback and 00 Nation became the second Brazilian team to qualify for their home Major in Rio. Complexity will have to await their fait in the 2-2 pool tomorrow.
