ELiGE is looking on form for the NA side

Liquid drench oNe's upset dream

Liquid dominate the Brazillian team in their opening match-up

Team Liquid are coming into the RMR fresh off their impressive run at ESL Pro League, where they ran Vitality super close in the B05 final. Looking to spoil the mood, team oNe come into the RMR without the preparation against tier one competition but having only lost three out of their past twenty maps they are also in good form.

Team oNe will be looking to show to the world that they aren't here to make up the numbers, especially with the firepower of Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa and Matheus "pesadelo" Panisset on their roster. On the Liquid side Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis and Josh "oSee" Ohm will no doubt need to be at the top of the scoreboards if Liquid wants to continue making deep runs.

The veto left the showdown to take place on Dust2, a map the Liquid side only managed seven rounds on in their game against Vitality. Even so Liquid were the nailed-on favourites and a clean 3v3 retake on the pistol set out a clear statement from the North American side. The rounds started stacking up and at 5-0 it was Jonathan "ELiGE" Jablonowski and, surprisingly, Nick "nitr0" Cannalla topping the server with eight kills each. YEKINDAR even broke out the secondary AWP a significant investment early in the CT half, but maybe a display of the team's confidence.

Nine rounds in and Team oNe had barely had a sniff at a bombsite, their key man malbsMd had failed to manage a single kill while ELiGE was sitting pretty on 177 ADR. Victor "iDK" Torraca kept the Brazillian team afloat, after creating the opening for their first-round win and a 1v2 clutch in the follow-up to give oNe their first points on the board.

The success was short-lived though and with just one more round to their name, oNe headed into the second half with an almighty mountain to climb. A glimmer of hope for the Brazillian side came in the form of a pistol round win with both malbsMd and pesadelo picking up two kills. The team needed their dangerous duo to warm up into the game, if they were to have any hope of making a comeback.

The teams then traded force-buy wins and after oNe looked like they had put an end to the force shenanigans, picking up their sixth round and forcing Liquid into a near full eco. One single smoke and a scout were all the American team needed to cause chaos with a well-executed B split. The Brazillian team decided to play for all the marbles at 14-6 and their force didnt pay off leaving them with another weak buy up against match point.

Liquid and in particular ELiGE showed of some dominant form and will be looking to secure that all-important Legends spot.
