Squirtle Squad will represent the US at the open qualifier

Rotterdam invites announced

ESL has released who from North America will represent their region at the Challenger Rotterdam closed qualifier.

The invites for the North and South American closed qualifiers for ESL Challenger Rotterdam have been revealed. The teams include both ESL Challenger Melbourne finalists and the two North American teams that could not overcome EG.PA in the last ESL Challenger closed qualifiers.

For North America, the best of the best in terms of orgless rosters, Squirtle Squad, has been invited alongside fellow RMR attending team ATK. oNe will also be in attendence after already qualifying through the first open qualifier. These three were all in the last closed qualifier for ESL Challenger Melbourne but could not overcome EG.PA who were not able to get a win at the main event. It was ATK who was able to get the closest last time around, however, with Squirtle Squad's recent changes it will be interesting to see if they can overcome their "rivals" this time. The two invited squads and oNe will be joined by one more team who will have to qualify through the second open qualifier.

For South America, the first and second place finishers from ESL Challenger Melbourne have been invited to the closed qualifier. PaiN will be looking to add another ESL Challenger win to their recent string of victories as the new-look squad continue to elevate their ceiling on an international stage. For Imperial it will be a second chance to win after falling to their Brazilian counterparts in the final. PaiN and Imperial will compete against two teams who make it through the open qualifier.

The NA competitors will be fighting for a spot in the main event on the 17-18th of September whereas the four SA teams will be playing on the 14-15th of the same month.
