NAF and company will be looking to replicate their strong IEM Cologne showing

Americas' representatives at EPL Season 16 revealed

Five Americas teams will soon be heading off to compete in the $835,000 event.

ESL have announced the 24 teams who will be present at ESL Pro League Season 16, with the Americas making up five of the squads that will be eager to nab both the gold medal and the lion's share of the $835,000 prize pool.

Kicking off the Americas' representation in the event is none other than MIBR, with the Brazilian quintet hoping to come back from the player break refreshed and with a better showing after bowing out of the IEM Cologne Play-in in 13th-16th place following losses to TYLOO and eventual semifinalists, Movistar Riders.

The other team heading into Pro League determined to make up for what has been a truly lackluster past six months is Complexity, with the North American side also bowing out of the IEM Cologne Play-In in 13th-16th place alongside a string of other disappointing results. Speaking to Dust2.us shortly after being eliminated from the German event, head coach Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen spoke of the potential for changes within the roster, so a new-look Complexity at EPL is definitely on the cards.

Evil Geniuses will also be making an appearance at the event thanks to their status as a partner team. While it's not yet known which EG squad will be representing the organization, it's highly likely to be the main Jake "Stewie2K" Yip-led lineup. It also goes without saying that they'll certainly be attempting to best their previous showings which saw them finish dead last three seasons in a row - a far cry from EG's previous peak of the world's best team back in 2019.

Coming off of their top six performance in IEM Cologne with superstar stand-in Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis, Liquid will be looking to make a splash in ESL Pro League Season 16. Whilst securing the services of the young Latvian may prove difficult given the currently imposed sanctions on Virtus.pro, Nick "nitr0" Cannella's men will still be looking to build on their strong performance in Germany after a rather shaky start to 2022.

The fifth and final Americas team in attendance at the four-week tournament is the Brazilian side FURIA, whose form has dipped in the past few months, going from a 3rd-4th place showing at IEM Dallas to 9th-12th and 7th-8th place finishes at the Roobet Cup and IEM Cologne, respectively. FURIA will undoubtedly be hoping to use EPL Season 16 as a way to get 2022 back on track and return to their solid showings seen earlier on in the year.

The team list for ESL Pro League Season 16 is:
