Astralis send Complexity home from Cologne

The American squad's devastating streak of losses continues.

Astralis have taken down Complexity 2-0 in the lower bracket of the IEM Cologne Play-in. The two teams met in the lower bracket after both lost in their opening matches, Astralis to 00 Nation and Complexity to Spirit.

The game started on Complexity's pick of Overpass where Astralis immediately got off to a rip-roaring start, picking off seven of the map's first eight rounds. COL fought back on the T-side to end the half just three rounds down and looked at a feasible CT-side on their own map pick. Astralis, unfortunately, managed to win the first three rounds, and while Complexity were able to pick a few rounds between, the Danish machine churned up our Americans as Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth dragged out a total of 24 kills to bring Astralis the first map with a scoreline of 16-10.

On Astralis' pick of Nuke, Complexity was unable to put together large streaks of rounds on their CT-side, only snagging one or two at a time. Despite Complexity's inability to put up a string of rounds, they still managed to keep things fairly close, down 6-9 at the half.

Astralis snatched the second pistol round to put some distance between themselves and the Americans, but Complexity finally locked down more than two rounds in a row to keep themselves in contention. Unfortunately, Complexity simply did not have enough fuel in the tank to contend with Astralis, as the Danes's marched on to secure their pick 16-9, sending Complexity packing from IEM Cologne.
