Americans stumble in Roobet Cup

Complexity head to the Group B elimination match after a tough loss to the Cloud9.

Complexity are one series away from elimination in the Roobet Cup following a tough 2-0 loss to Cloud9 in their opening match. The loss was particularly painful for Johnny "JT" Theodosiou and Paytyn "junior" Johnson as the duo ended the series with 0.61 and 0.79 ratings, respectively.

In a match that started on Complexity's pick of Inferno, it looked like the Americans would get out to an early lead in the best of three after ending their T-side up 8-7 before climbing to a 14-9 on their CT-side. However, Cloud9 were able to rally back on their offense and would bring it to overtime, eventually clinching the win 19-16 thanks to a strong performance from Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov.

After letting Inferno slip away in disappointing fashion, Complexity failed to get their mojo going on Dust2. The Russians quickly showed their strength on their own map pick as they won their T-side 10-5. After switching sides, Complexity struggled to find any consistency as Cloud9 quickly powered forward to a 16-7 win.
