ENCE to field Snax in place of Spinx at IEM Dallas
ENCE have announced that star-rifler Lotan "Spinx" Giladi will be unable to attend the upcoming IEM Dallas due to visa issues, forcing the roster to instead recruit the services of Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski as a stand-in.
This announcement confirms Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer's comments in an interview with Dust2.us where he claimed that Spinx might be unable to compete in IEM Dallas due to the Israeli's inability to obtain a visa.
This news will undoubtedly be a big blow to the European side, with Spinx being ENCE's best-performing player at the recently concluded PGL Antwerp Major, boasting an impressive 1.24 rating across his 17 maps played at the event. This strong performance isn't an anomaly, either, as Spinx also sports a team-high 1.15 rating since joining the squad in early 2021.
Hoping to fill the shoes of the young prodigy is none other than Snax, the Polish veteran who previously won the EMS One Katowice Major back in 2014 with Virtus.pro whilst also being in HLTV's Top 20 four years in a row from 2014-2017. Despite his storied past, Snax has instead spent the past few years hopping around the domestic Polish scene, most recently playing under the MONKE tag with former Virtus.pro teammate, Paweł Bieliński, throughout early 2022.
The 28-year-old's last spell with an English-speaking lineup came during his rather lackluster time with MOUZ back in 2018. In spite of a first-place finish at ESL One New York, his days were numbered, playing just 63 maps across a three month tenure before being benched in lieu of Martin "STYKO" Styk.
ENCE will compete in Dallas with the following roster:
Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer
Paweł "dycha" Dycha
Olek "hades" Miskiewicz
Pavle "Maden" Bošković
Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski
Eetu "sAw" Saha (Coach)
ENCE have precious little time to bring Snax up to speed, with the $250,000 event slated to begin on Monday May 30th.
