Strife and ATK make changes to coaching staff

Strife have lost their assistant coach while ATK have brought on an analyst.

Canadian and South African organizations Strife and ATK have seen changes take place in their coaching staff this week, with Strife assistant coach Thomas "klank" Mennemeyer leaving the organization while ATK have added Italian analyst Carmine "Fisic0" Lorusso.

klank initially joined Strife at the start of November, completing a short trial period before being signed to the squad on a permanent basis. During his time with Strife, the team won Fragadelphia 16: Denver and the main Fragadelphia 16 event prior to the tumultuous departure of Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk. Following his ouster, Strife finished ESL Challenger League Season 40 in fourth place.

Despite the strong results, klank has left the team due to being too busy to continue working with the team, according to Strife IGL Bobby "stamina" Eitrem. In his place, stamina has posted a form for applicants.

Strife are now:

  • United States Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan

  • Canada David "J0LZ" Jolin

  • United States Bobby "stamina" Eitrem

  • Canada Paul "aris" Wilson

  • Christian "crisby" Schmitt (Coach)

ATK, meanwhile, have expanded their staff with an analyst from Italy, one of the less-developed regions in European CS:GO. Fisic0 previously played in the ESL Italia Championship and briefly coached Hungarian team Honvéd.

Regarding the hire, ATK's coach Daniel "sprayxd" Kogan told Dust2.us:

MisteM and I have been working with Fisc0 for the past month or so to see if he will fit our needs, we mainly needed someone that can help us being prepared for matches and making sure we wont be caught off guard. I usually was watching all of that myself and it was a hard load on me so giving that part of the work to someone else and developing his skill in the same time is valuable for our team as of now. We are really happy with his anti-strats, but I still like watching opponents myself, just to see it with my own eyes. But, I do not divide as much attention to it as i used to before which is really nice for myself. With that being said, obviously me and MisteM are able to focus on the other aspects of team development and give a higher percent of focus on those things.

ATK are now:

  • Gareth "MisteM" Ries

  • Rhys "Fadey" Armstrong

  • United States Ian "motm" Hardy

  • Sweden Johnathan "b0denmaster" Bodenmalm

  • United States Michael "Swisher" Schmid (Trial)

  • Daniel "sprayxd" Kogan (Coach)

  • Carmine "Fisic0" Lorusso (Analyst)

ATK are currently playing in ESEA Spring Cash Cup 2 and have made it to the top sixteen.
